John D Mayberry, LMFT
"Sometimes, all one needs to feel better is to attain a different perspective on the situation. Simply experiencing the view from my office can make anyone feel more at ease."
I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. My office is located adjacent to my home in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, which is approximately a five minute drive from traffic light #6, on the Parkway.
My practice encompasses individual, couples, and family therapy. I use the Family Systems Theory approach emphasizing interpersonal communication, role structure, and Bowenian Theory. Areas of expertise include the following: marital and premarital issues; adolescent / parent communication; geriatric and grand-parenting challenges, anger management, grief counseling, and work place stress.
I offer “SUCCESSFUL CO-PARENTING,” a four hour state approved “class” which is required by the Tennessee court system for all divorcing couples with minor children. I see only couples who are comfortable taking the class together. I conduct these classes one couple at a time. This allows these sessions to be flexible to fit the needs of the participants. Children do not attend these classes.
I have presented programs at the TAMFT, Tennessee Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, as well as for corporations and trade associations.
I am a verified member of Psychology Today
